Kevin Fowlie, Chief Operating Officer for Network Plus:

We are proud to successfully deliver on behalf of United Utilities for many years now and we anticipate helping drive the Better Rivers programme throughout AMP8. This contract award is a testament to the work that our operational teams undertake every day, and we are eager to collaborate with United Utilities and our other detailed design and build programme partners to help create a greener future. Kevin-Fowlie_1161-1.png

Building our talent from within

Our recruitment team will be working closely with project leads to find the best talent internally and externally to support this work. Keep you eye on our careers page and social channels to find out more later this year.

The contract forms a key part of the UU’s AMP8 programme. The detailed design and build programme is set to be a game-changer with a significant proportion of work dedicated to resolving Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) through both traditional and innovative solutions.

Our operations will cover the whole of the United Utilities network, and the framework will be in place for an initial five-year period, with the potential for five further years through contract extensions.

The contract forms part of our wider sustainability ethos, and will see Network Plus contribute to a stronger, greener, and healthier North West, whilst showcasing our expertise in delivering safe, efficient and sustainable engineering projects.

Jane Simpson, Commercial, Engineering & Capital Delivery Director at United Utilities, said:

We’re really pleased to have chosen 18 great partners who will complement the seven partners that we have already have announced to help deliver our ambitious plans and transform our infrastructure across the region.

For the first time, we’re engaging directly with these partners who will do the work, rather than through large management contractors.  This will allow us to be more agile and ensures we have a mix of partners able to deliver at speed, whilst securing the best value for our customers.”
