Network Plus out to slash vehicle emissions on World Environment Day

It’s World Environment Day – the perfect day for Network Plus to announce that Lightfoot, the in-cab driver coaching device that drives down vehicle emissions, is being rolled out across the fleet from Monday 9 June.

The Lightfoot device works by fully connecting to the vehicle’s onboard computer and rewards drivers for safer driving via the dedicated app. The in-cab aid provides real-time feedback to drivers through visual and verbal nudges, helping them drive more efficiently by guiding them towards the engine’s more efficient ‘sweet spot’.

The smoother and more efficient drivers are, the better their Lightfoot score, with ‘Elite’ drivers in line to win a range of fabulous prizes; in total, Lightfoot has given away more than £1million to drivers.

And as well as rewarding Elite drivers for lowering vehicle emissions, Lightfoot also means lower fuel bills and cheaper insurance premiums for fleets.

It’s good for drivers, good for the business and good for the environment.

Network Plus Supply Chain Director, Neil Thorbinson, says:
“Lightfoot is a win-win. It’s been a tremendous success since it was introduced at GTM last winter, which is why we’re rolling it out across our entire fleet. It really does drive up standards and drives down costs.”

Sophie Leybourn, UK Sales Director, Lightfoot, adds:
“We’re delighted to be working with Network Plus, a leading infrastructure service provider with a vast fleet operating throughout the UK. As a company that shares our values around decarbonisation and getting drivers home safely every day, they’re an ideal partner for Lightfoot. Their commitment to building a positive driving culture through incentives and rewards aligns perfectly with our approach. We’re really excited to see the safety and sustainability benefits that Lightfoot’s in-cab driver coaching and performance platform will bring to their fleet.”

Lightfoot devices will be fitted in around 1,300 Network Plus vehicles.
