Network Plus awarded major cable project contract with Western Power Distribution

Network Plus have been awarded a contract to install 15km of 33kV core cable and Fibre cable from Meaford to Eccleshall in the West Midlands.

The work will involve excavation, duct laying, cable installation and reinstatement works. Working closely with WPD teams, we will show care to the local communities impacted by our works.

Network Plus Framework lead Carl Dixon said: “some of the route is in rural areas which means the cable will be laid in the carriageway, footpath, verge and fields. We will use a variety of techniques to avoid disruption.”

There are several challenges associated with this project, which will be addressed through Network Plus safe systems of work. The route includes road crossings for which we will lay ducting. We will also be installing cable under a river; the route for this has been prepared using directional drilling.
