Our very own finance team has made the shortlist for the annual Finance Awards North West – one the region’s biggest business awards events.
Now in their sixth year, the Finance Awards North West awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of finance teams and professionals across the region, recognising their often-overlooked impact on business success.
The finance team is shortlisted in the Finance Transformation & Change category, for teams that demonstrate the successful delivery and/or implementation of activities leading to the improvement or growth of their businesses.
And, in addition, Head of Financial Shared Services Colin McDougall is shortlisted for Senior Finance Team Player of the Year, an award presented to high achievers who are integral to their team’s success. Colin came through a gruelling, hour-long session with judges in March to earn his place at the awards ceremony.
The finance team’s work touches every corner of the business, making the transformation programme one of the most important programmes undertaken at Network Plus. Launched in January 2024, the programme’s guiding principles are simplification, efficiency and appropriate control – and already the team is making a huge impact.
As Network Plus continues to grow, the transformation team is ensuring that business-critical systems grow with it – future-proofing our organisation, and providing reassurance to clients and investors alike. Over the past 12 months, the focus has been on three major projects, with change, continuous improvement and transformation at their core.
As systems and processes evolve, so too do people and purpose. While Colin McDougall has been a mainstay of the team over the past four years, providing invaluable leadership as well as being ‘the ultimate team player’ in the words of one colleague, other talented people have been enlisted along the way. There is still much to do, but this is a team with the work ethic and sense of purpose to deliver.
The winners of all 14 Finance Awards North West categories will be announced on 5 June at an exclusive awards night at Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
