Training & Wellbeing Team Leader

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for leading the Training and Occupational Health Department. You will oversee an extensive catalogue of training, assessment and wellbeing schedules, supporting multiple contracts at any one time as they strive towards compliance. 

Main Duties


  • Ensure that all contracts have full visibility to an accurate record management system.
  • Conduct team meetings and provide updates on best practice and continuing expectations.
  • Develop strategic, contract specific training and occupational health development plans for new/underperforming contracts. 
  • Lead the communication & administrative processes of all major projects with the department and the wider business. 
  • Oversee the quality of service and support provided to the wider business by the team.
  • Set and communicate deadlines and goals to all team members and develop strategies to promote performance. Tasks & objectives should be clear, achievable and tangible.
  • Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports to assess, plan and drive training & Occupational Health activities. Reports will be circulated within the team and the wider business.
  • Maintain a cost-effective training and assessment schedule.
  • Maximise attendance and capacity across all courses/assessments.
  • Develop team strengths and improve weaknesses.
  • Be the voice of reason during times of conflict or stressful situations to ensure resolution before escalation.


  • Support & represent the Training and Wellbeing Lead manager when they are absent or out of the office

Experience and Qualifications Needed

  • Good verbal & written communication skills – in person, email & telephone 
  • Ability to develop & maintain good working relationships with colleagues and displays tact and discretion when working on confidential matters
  • Integrity 
  • Delegation 
  • MS Office proficiency including Outlook, Word & Excel – minimum intermediate Excel. 
  • Proactive in nature & shows initiative
  • Focused on achieving results & hitting deadlines
  • Demonstrable delivery of projects
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Calm under pressure 


Location: Salford

Hours: 45hr

Salary: 26k (negotiable – dependant on experience)
