We have four key focus areas where we know we can make a difference;
Our aim is to have zero accidents, incidents and ill health as a result of our activities. We carry out daily checks on the quality of work, invest in latest plant and equipment (the average age of fleet is less than 20 months old) and deliver industry recognised training schemes.
We recognise our duty to reduce emissions, noise, dust and recycle as much as possible. We have an in-house recycling facility which to date has recycled over one million tonnes of waste which would otherwise have been sent to landfill. Following feedback from the Carbon Trust, our carbon reduction focus is centred on actions we can take to reduce fuel and energy use.
We really take pride in the quality of our workforce. Employee well-being and engagement are central to what we do. At a local level, across the UK we encourage employees to give time and other resources to charitable organisations. We also recognise that we need to invest in resources of the future. That’s why we carry out supporting education programmes, provide work experience programmes and offer career opportunities for care leavers, apprentices and graduates.
We operate a policy of equal employment and are committed to the Modern Slavery Act.
We give a huge amount of focus on working with local people and community groups. This can range from supporting local charities, use of local supply chain, small businesses to provide services and recruiting resources locally. Where feasible, we recruit resources who are local to the areas in which we operate, so that we can deliver great services to our clients.
